This is the plan that Florentino Pérez has

Real Madrid faces a challenging task in finding a quality replacement for Karim Benzema. Although they have set their sights on Harry Kane, they now encounter the difficulty of negotiating with Tottenham, a club that does not have a smooth relationship with the Madrid team.

Despite the 29-year-old forward having only one more year left on his contract with Tottenham, which would allow him to negotiate as a free agent from January onwards, Real Madrid wants to have him immediately. Therefore, they will seek to pressurize the English team by arguing that this is their last opportunity to make a significant financial gain from his transfer.

The club led by Florentino Pérez is not willing to spend more than 80 million EUR on this operation, so if Tottenham's chairman, Daniel Levy, does not approve the transfer, they will resort to pressure tactics, as has happened in previous emblematic cases.

In 2012, Luka Modric desired to join Real Madrid, but Tottenham resisted selling him, so he refused to participate in the preseason, returned to his country, and then came back to England to train alone while his teammates were in the United States for preseason training. As a result, the midfielder was sold for 30 million EUR just before the transfer window closed.

A year later, Gareth Bale went through a similar situation. He claimed an injury and did not show up for the preseason, but he played for his national team in the qualifiers. Tottenham demanded 145 million EUr for his transfer, and Bale eventually joined Real Madrid for 101 million EUR.
