Another player joins the list of departures

A change of era at Real Madrid had been anticipated for a few years, but it never seemed to materialize. However, on June 3rd, the long-awaited explosion finally happened. After announcing the departures of Marco Asensio and Mariano Díaz, the club delivered another blow by officially announcing the departure of Eden Hazard in a statement published on the club's website.

Since his arrival from Chelsea in the summer of 2018, the Belgian player has gone completely unnoticed, making it undoubtedly one of the most disappointing transfers in the history of the club and world football. The contractual relationship between both parties will conclude on June 30, 2023.

Hazard still had one more year left on his contract with the Merengues, but due to his limited playing time, the management has chosen to terminate his association. In the statement, Real Madrid wishes the forward and his family the best in this new phase of their lives.

It remains unclear whether the Belgian player will continue his career or make the decision to retire after several dismal years characterized by numerous injuries and a lack of prominence on the field. This farewell marks the end of a period marred by frustration and underperformance for Hazard at Real Madrid.

With Real Madrid include lifting a total of eight titles during his four years at the club. These include a UEFA Champions League, a FIFA Club World Cup, a UEFA Super Cup, two La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups. However, it must be acknowledged that he was never a key player in obtaining those titles.
