There is a lot of work to do with this society. There's no doubt. And seeing an example like Joey Barton, it makes you wonder if we are going to get better. The Premier League player is at the center of controversy after an unfortunate comment about female commentators.

The former Manchester City and Newcastle footballer, among others, was watching a Premier League match when he left a comment that caused a stir. Citing another English star like John Terry, the former coach harshly attacked female sports journalists.

Football commented by women? John Terry said what we all thought. Women do not have any type of authority to talk about men's football, said Barton in reference to a tweet that the former Chelsea center back posted during the World Cup in Qatar, assuring that he would have to watch the game without the volume. The networks attributed this comment to the fact that the match was being broadcast by Vicki Sparks, the first female commentator of a men's World Cup match.

Joey Barton's comment was directed at Alex Scott (BBC Football), Laura Woods (TNT) and Bianca Westwood (Sky Sports) and, although Terry explained his words at the time, the former Premier League player does not believe his partner's excuses.
He then had to pretend that his TV had broken. He is worth about 100 million pounds, he was captain of Chelsea and England and he had to resort to lying to get them to stop attacking him. Would he have backed down if he didn't have the racist shout against Anton? he said.

Joey Barton defends himself against his comment

After all the controversy, Barton had to explain his words in a tweet that has generated even more stir. I worry about journalists who aren't good enough to comment on football, because they don't understand the game. They are taking jobs away from men who are good enough.
