The Reds need a new coach.

This Friday the soccer world was shocked by the unexpected announcement of Jurgen Klopp, who released a statement through a video shared on social media in which he explained that he is "running out of energy" and that is why he made the decision to end his successful stint at Liverpool after 9 years. That means that this semester will be the last with him at Anfield Road and next summer the club's chiefs will have to look for a replacement.

World impact, Klopp announces he's leaving Liverpool and this is the real reason

That will not be an easy task. In the 9 seasons the German manager was there, he turned The Reds into one of the best teams in England and Europe, winning Premier League, Champions League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Community Shield, Club World Cup and Super Cup titles. And in the current season they are English league leaders, Carabao Cup finalists and are still competing in the FA Cup and UEFA Europa League.

So, whoever the replacement is, he will have to live up to expectations and live with the comparisons to Klopp. Being a former star of the English club will undoubtedly help, as he will have the support and patience of the fans. Should the chiefs choose someone previously associated with the side, the main favorite will be Xabi Alonso. The Spanish coach played there between 2004 and 2009, winning the Champions League title in 2005. He is currently the manager of Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Another manager with a glorious past at Liverpool is Steven Gerrard. But he has not had good experiences at the clubs he managed and is currently working at Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia.

Other alternatives are managers who are succeeding in the Premier League right now. Roberto De Zerbi has proven to have a lot of ability and knowledge, leading Brighton & Hove Albion. And even Pep Guardiola mentioned him as his possible replacement at Manchester City. And another is Unai Emery, who is competing with the English giants at Aston Villa this season.

Does 'Mou' have a chance?

According to The Sun, another successful manager who joins the list of favorites to replace Klopp is Jose Mourinho. He was recently sacked at AS Roma and has offers from Saudi Arabia, but the Premier League seems to be his place in the world. There he was champion several times with Chelsea, in addition to having managed Manchester United and Tottenham.
