Ten Hag breaks silence on Rashford as transfer to European giants rumoured

The Manchester United striker caused a scandal last week.

He's in trouble.

Last Friday Marcus Rashford was absent from Manchester United's training session claiming to be ill, but the truth quickly came out: he had been partying in Belfast the night before and so the next morning he was not fit to work with his teammates. For this reason coach Erik Ten Hag decided not to call him up for the FA Cup round of 32 match, in which they beat Newport County 4-2.

Tottenham are willing to pay $100 million for this Premier League star

Several days have passed since then and this Wednesday the Dutch manager gave a press conference before the game against Wolverhampton in the Premier League. As well as talking about the team and their upcoming opponents, Ten Hag was asked about Rashford and said: "So he has taken responsibility and for the rest it's an internal matter. Case closed." Then a journalist asked him if the striker's behavior is considered disrespectful and he replied: "It's nothing to do with that but as I said, let's focus on the game, let's move on. The statement is clear and we have to focus on winning football games."

These words from the coach were not enough to put an end to the rumors. In fact, The Sun quotes a source who claims that things are not going well in the squad: "Marcus no longer has the same lads around him and doesn't get involved in the bench as much. He can be very moody in training and in games and just doesn't seem happy. He doesn't really hang around with any of the players anymore and seems distant."

With this scenario, Marcus Rashford's departure from Manchester United seems an ever-closer possibility. And a European giant could be his destination. According to the i, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing him for next season, considering that Kylian Mbappé is very likely to become a free agent and leave for Liverpool or Real Madrid.

How much is he worth?

Despite PSG's alleged interest, Marcus Rashford's departure from Manchester United seems unlikely. Firstly, because the English side are not willing to get rid of him for now. And also because of his high value: according to the specialized website Transfermarkt, Rahsford is worth $76 million, but the Red Devils valued him last year at $150 million.
