They were aiming for Robert to take over the responsibility of replacing Lionel Messi, who a year earlier had left for Paris Saint-Germain. Chicago Fire coach Frank Koplas was asked about the possibility of his team signing Robert Lewandowski this season, but his answer was not at all optimistic: "It's not feasible," he said. And then he added: "Every team would want Lewandowski to come. But unfortunately, he has two years left in his contract.
