The last few weeks have been difficult for Barcelona. Fans were already dissatisfied last year with the team's performances, but it got worse in January, when they lost the Spanish Super Cup final to Real Madrid, were eliminated from the Copa del Rey against Athletic Bilbao and lost to Villarreal in La Liga. Those failures led Xavi Hernandez to make the unexpected decision to announce his departure from the club once the season ends.

Breaking news, the coach who made Messi's debut could be returning to Barcelona
But in the meantime Los Blaugranas have a lot to compete for this semester. They are in the round of 16 of the Champions League, where they will face Napoli, while in the Spanish league they have to improve their performances to achieve two objectives: to secure their place in the next Champions League and in the Spanish Super Cup 2025.
That is why the victory they achieved this Wednesday in Montjuic against Osasuna was important. The chaos of the last week could have been detrimental for them and affected their performance on the pitch, but thanks to Vitor Roque's goal they were able to win and gain some calm. However, not everything went well for them despite the victory.
During the first half of the match, Xavi had to make a forced substitution: Ferran Torres suffered a muscle injury and had to be replaced by Fermin Lopez. "The tests carried out have shown that Ferran Torres suffers an injury in the biceps femoris of the right thigh. He is out and his evolution will mark his availability", informed the club through a statement on social media. This is undoubtedly bad news for them, as the forward was one of their top players lately.

How an unfortunate injury was the key to Barcelona's win vs Osasuna
During January, eight Barcelona players suffered injuries that prevented them from playing several games: Ferran Torres, Joao Felix, Alejandro Balde, Sergi Roberto, Andreas Christensen, Raphinha, Inigo Martinez and Joao Cancelo. When asked about this, Xavi did not hesitate to say: "I think it is the fault of the calendar, which is criminal. In the last 28 days we have played nine games and that's too many".
