On Saturday Barcelona released a statement explaining what happened to the Spanish player: "Tests have shown that first-team player Alejandro Balde suffers an injury to the hamstring tendon of the right thigh. In the coming days he will undergo surgical treatment by Dr. Lasse Lempainen, under the supervision of the Club's medical services, in Turku (Finland). A new medical report will be issued at the end of the surgery". This means that the defender will not be able to play again until next season.

In addition to the bad news about Alejandro Balde, there was the injury of another squad player. "First team player Sergi Roberto has some discomfort in the Achilles tendon of his left foot. It is low and its evolution will mark the availability," reported the Catalan side and, according to the newspaper Sport, he will miss the matches against Osasuna and Alaves.
