He had trouble.

After almost five months, this Saturday Jadon Sancho returned to play an official match from the start. He had last been on the field on August 26 last year, when he came off the bench in Manchester United's 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest. A week later his famous spat with coach Erik Ten Hag occurred and he was punished by the club's chiefs, prevented from training with his teammates and eventually loaned out until the end of the season.

Breaking news, the $90 million player Manchester United want to get rid of

Borussia Dortmund were the big winners in this story. They received almost $90 million for Jadon in 2021 and now have him back to enjoy his talent, at least until next summer. This Saturday they visited FC Köln at the Rhein Energie Stadion, in the 18th round of the Bundesliga, and got an important 4-0 victory.

However, the attention was focused on an unusual situation that happened during the second half. Edin Terzic's team were already leading 1-0 when Sancho went down inside the box and the referee Daniel Schlager gave a penalty. Immediately Niclas Füllkrug, the team's goal scorer, took the ball to kick it.

The English winger's reaction was unexpected: he approached his teammate with the intention of taking the ball away from him and being the one to kick it. According to Sky Sports reporter Patrick Berger, he even shouted to Füllkrug on several occasions "Gimme the ball! Gimme the ball!" and even begged him to do it. But it was a futile effort. The German striker stuck to his decision and scored from the spot for Borussia Dortmund's second goal, which then doubled the lead through Youssoufa Moukoko and Donyell Malen.

Worst news confirmed: here's what happened to Liverpool's Mohamed Salah

What will happen to him?

Jadon Sancho came to Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season, without an option to buy. So next summer he will have to return to Manchester United. However, this does not mean that he will stay at Old Trafford. But at least there should be a negotiation with the German side for a definitive transfer. In any case, the Red Devils know that they will not get back the full $90 million they paid for him two and a half years ago.
