When is Jude coming back?

Real Madrid's 2023/24 season is almost perfect. They are top of the La Liga standings with a considerable lead over Girona and Barcelona, while winning the Spanish Super Cup title and gaining a key advantage in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 against RB Leipzig. Their only failure was in the Copa del Rey, where they were eliminated by Atlético Madrid.

Real Madrid star surprised everyone by confirming his return after 3 years

Despite the good performances shown by the team and the positive results they obtained, Carlo Ancelotti has had to face during the last months a serious problem: injuries. At the beginning of the season, Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao suffered torn cruciate ligaments in their knees and had to undergo surgery. Then it was the same for David Alaba, while other stars of the squad were also sidelined for a long time due to other injuries.

Right now two key players for the coach are in the final stages of their recovery. One of them is Antonio Rudiger, who has not played since the end of January due to a muscle injury. But this Thursday Real Madrid confirmed through a statement that he completed part of the training with his teammates, so it is expected that he may be able to play next Sunday against Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

The case of Jude Bellingham is different. He will still need a few more days to recover from the ankle injury he suffered against Girona on February 10 and is ruled out for the match against Sevilla. The most optimistic prognosis is that he can play at least a few minutes against Valencia on March 2 and thus be ready for the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 vs RB Leipzig, the following week.

Ancelotti found a good replacement for him

In the games in which Jude Bellingham was unable to play, the Italian manager relied on Brahim Diaz. And the plan worked to perfection, as the former AC Milan player showed excellent performances and even scored the decisive goal in the win against RB Leipzig in Germany.
