He is Cristiano's teammate and said that to be like him it is necessary to be "selfish"

This Portuguese forward surprised everyone with an unexpected phrase about CR7.

No one expected him to say something like that.

For more than 20 years Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the biggest stars of soccer. He made his debut as a professional player in 2002 with Sporting Lisbon and was quickly transferred to Manchester United, where he grew thanks to the advice of Sir Alex Ferguson and the guidance of stars like Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Paul Scholes and Roy Keane. That allowed him to become the best player in the world in 2008 and to reach Real Madrid, where he won everything and starred in memorable duels against Lionel Messi.

Now, at the age of 38, he continues to shine in the Saudi Arabian Pro League with Al-Nassr, with whom he won the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023. And he is also a key member of the Portugal national team, which since the arrival of coach Roberto Martinez has found a style of play that benefits CR7 and allows him to score many goals.

There he has teammates who are stars in their respective teams, such as Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and Barcelona's Joao Felix. And then there is Rafael Leao. The AC Milan forward has been one of the best players in Serie A in recent seasons and that has earned him a place in Portugal's squad.

As with all players from his country, Leao says he admires CR7. In an interview with Sky Sport he said: "My idol is Cristiano Ronaldo" and then, when asked if his goal is to be as good as him, he clarified: "To be like him and Mbappé? I can get there, but I'm not selfish. I can score goals, but if I can give assists, I do it. At these levels the numbers make the difference because Mbappé, Haaland and Messi have numbers that speak for themselves. When I think like them, I will reach that level."

These are his goals

Rafael Leao finally spoke about AC Milan's objectives for the second half of the season, in which they will compete in the UEFA Europa League: "We have to win it. (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic did it and he gives us the experience to achieve it. We have never won that competition and it is a challenge."
