Barcelona rejected these two players and they took their revenge with Las Palmas

The Catalan side are trailing 1-0 at the Gran Canaria Stadium.

Xavi can't believe it.

Barcelona began Thursday's match against Las Palmas knowing that they have no use for any other result than victory. On Wednesday Real Madrid beat Real Mallorca 1-0, while Girona did the same 4-3 vs Atletico Madrid and that allowed them both to stay on top of the La Liga standings with 48 points.

Now the difference they have over Los Blaugranas is 10 points and that means that if they do not get a win at the Gran Canaria Stadium, their chances of competing for the title will be greatly reduced, as they will be far away. That is why the pressure on Xavi Hernandez's team is enormous and they have no margin for error.

However, things are not going well for them. The team's performance during the first half at the Gran Canaria Stadium has been disappointing, as it had been in previous matches. And the hosts are taking advantage of that, as they found a way to nullify their opponents' virtues and create some opportunities to score.

With this scenario, it was no surprise that Las Palmas were the ones to get the opener. Twelve minutes into the first half, Sandro received the ball on the right side of the field and, with Alex Balde unable to stop him, sent a drilled cross into the box. There, goalkeeper Iñaki Peña did not react in time and allowed Munir El Haddadi to reach the ball and score the 1-0. The funny thing is that the two Las Palmas players who created the goal came up from Barcelona and, not having opportunities to play there, they left. And now they took revenge against their former club.

Xavi must be worried

The performance of the team during the first half surely did not satisfy the coach, so it is possible that after the break he will make changes. The substitutes are Diego Kochen, Ander Astralaga, Andreas Christensen, Hector Fort, Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, Oriol Romeu, Joao Felix, Lamine Yamal and Vitor Roque.
