The Catalan side will be in the United States next summer, before the start of the season.

In 2021 Lionel Messi had to leave Barcelona against his will, when president Joan Laporta announced to him that the club was not in a position to sign a contract renewal because of the serious financial problems they were facing. So he decided to go to Paris Saint-Germain for two years, a stage of his professional career that he later acknowledged was not a good one.

Last summer, after the expiration of his contract in France, Leo tried to return to Los Blaugranas, but the same reasons that forced him to leave in 2021 prevented him from coming back. That is why he decided to leave Europe and join Inter Miami to compete in Major League Soccer.

However, Barcelona did not forget about him and they intend to be near him soon. Next summer, they will travel to the United States during the preseason to play some friendly matches in New York and Orlando. Taking advantage of this, the club's chiefs talked to David Beckham and the other owners of Inter Miami to organize a match between the two clubs.

But the response they got was not what they expected. According to Mundo Deportivo, The Herons rejected the offer as they have no intention of facing the Catalan side. The reason is that on that date they will not be on vacation like Barcelona, but in the middle of an official competition: the Leagues Cup, the tournament that brings together MLS and Liga MX teams.

That will be one of their objectives.

Inter Miami will have a very demanding 2024. They will try to repeat the Leagues Cup title they won last season, but their priority will be two other tournaments: the MLS and the CONCACAF Champions League. The Herons have never been champions of any of those tournaments and now, with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, they will have the opportunity to achieve it.
