Jordi Alba was for a decade one of the best left-backs in the world. In 2012 he arrived at Barcelona from Valencia and quickly became a regular in the team's starting lineup. Over time he had a great connection on the field with Lionel Messi and they formed a great duo with the assists of one for the goals of the other.
After 11 seasons on the Spanish side, in which he played 459 games, scored 27 goals, provided 94 assists and won 18 titles (including the Champions League in 2015), this summer Alba decided to leave for Inter Miami, where he was reunited with Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and coach Gerardo Martino.
Now, having already spent a few months since he left, details of his farewell to Barcelona have emerged. Amazon Primer's series 'A New Era' shows exclusive images of the intimacy of the team and the relationships between the stars. In the second season, which premiered on September 6, Jordi Alba's last talks with his now former teammates are seen.
There, the defender said goodbye expressing: "Thank you all very much and if I've ever lost my temper a little bit, I'm sorry, you know how I am. But I think that in the end I try to help everyone and I think that's what I take with me".
Then Xavi Hernandez replied: "As a teammate, as a coach, as a Culé, for me you have been the best left-back that has passed through here. I wish you all the best. And if at any time you have felt disappointed, especially with me, I'm sorry, because you know it was nothing personal. But decisions have to be made and many times they are difficult, especially with friends. It's the worst decision, training friends. Even if at some point you've been disappointed, it's because I didn't know how to do it better".
