The forward wants to play for Los Blaugranas, but that is not his only alternative.

Joao Felix has been waiting all summer for an offer to leave Atlético Madrid. He knows he has no future there, as his relationship with coach Diego Simeone is not good and fans are still angry with him for saying in an interview that his dream is to play in Barcelona. Since then there has been speculation about a possible transfer to the Catalan side, but so far there have been no offers.

Nevertheless, this could change in the coming days. According to journalist Gerard Romero, Xavi Hernandez told the Barcelona chiefs that he will accept the arrival of Joao Felix. The coach initially had no interest in adding him, but now he needs a forward who can replace Ousmane Dembélé and seems to have changed his mind.

With this scenario, Joan Laporta's plan is to offer Atlético Madrid a season-long loan of Joao Felix. The Catalan side would take charge of 100% of the player's high salary, but they are not willing to pay a cent for his arrival. In addition, they will not accept that Los Colchoneros include a mandatory buyout clause for next year.

However, for this to become a reality, Barcelona must first get rid of players to reduce the total amount of wages and comply with the rules of financial fair play. Those targeted to leave are Clement Lenglet and Ansu Fati, although there are still no advanced negotiations for either of them.

Joao Felix has a plan B

Although the Portuguese forward wants to play in Barcelona, he knows that it will not be easy for Los Blaugranas to convince Atlético Madrid to transfer him with the conditions they want. That is why, according to the newspaper As, he has decided that, if negotiations with Barcelona fail, he will accept Al-Hilal's offer and play in the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
