"We play much better without him", Liverpool fans hate this $40 million player

The Reds picked up an important win at Anfield Road against Brentford.

Liverpool needed to beat Brentford at Anfield Road to move top of the Premier League standings alongside Manchester City and Arsenal, at least for a few hours until the Citizens play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

And they did it. But things were not easy for them, as The Bees proved to be a team with clear ideas that for most of the first half resisted The Reds' attacks and even came close to scoring the opener through Bryan Mbeumo, who on a counterattack came face to face with goalkeeper Alisson.

But things got easier for the hosts when 39 minutes into the first half Mohamed Salah received an assist from Darwin Nunez and, inside the box, shot with his left foot and netted the opener. From that point on, everything changed and they controlled the ball with much more calm and precision.

After the break, the Egyptian winger scored again for Liverpool, who further increased the lead in the 29th minute when Diogo Jota received a pass from Konstantinos Tsimikas, dribbled past two opposing players and scored a beautiful goal with a shot from outside the box that was impossible for goalkeeper Mark Flekken to save.

Fans are satisfied

In addition to the victory, many Liverpool fans expressed their satisfaction on social media for an unexpected reason: the absence of one player. Alexis MacAllister could not be part of the team this Sunday against Brentford because he received a one-day suspension for yellow card accumulation. Until now he had always been a key player for coach Jurgen Klopp, but this time in his place was Wataru Endo. One X user wrote: "Anyone else think Endo is better than MacAllister?". Another wrote: "We play much better football without MacAllister". And a third added: "The match is so peacefull when MacAllister not around to make misteakes".
