The Blues have had a poor start to the season and need a win.

Chelsea have had worrying performances in their first few games in the 2023/24 Premier League season. They spent a fortune in the last transfer window to sign top players to help raise the team's level, but so far things have not gone as expected: they won only once in the tournament, against Luton Town, lost three games and drew two. As a result they are in 15th place in the standings.

The team's poor performances have left the fans, who at the beginning of the season were hoping to see something better, unsatisfied. Coach Mauricio Pochettino has been heavily criticized, as have several players in the squad. However, last week they beat Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 in the Carabao Cup Round of 32 and that helped calm things down.

But now they will have to do the same in the Premier League. This Monday they will face Fulham at Craven Cottage, looking for a victory that will bring them closer to the qualification places for international tournaments, as well as reduce the gap with the leaders, Manchester City, who lost against Wolverhampton on Saturday.

For this match, Mauricio Pochettino decided that Chelsea's starting lineup will be: Robert Sanchez; Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella; Moises Caicedo, Conor Gallagher; Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk; Armando Broja. Also on the bench will be Dorde Petrovic, Josh Brooking, Ian Maatsen, Alfie Gilchrist, Chimuanya Ugochukwu, Raheem Sterling, Noni Madueke, Alex Matos and Deivid Washington.

They need to win too

Fulham didn't have a much better start to the season than Chelsea. They have 8 points, having won two games, drawn two and lost two. Last week they beat Norwich 2-1 in the Carabao Cup and advanced to the round of 16. For Monday's match against the Blues, coach Marco Silva chose this XI: Bernd Leno; Bernd Leno; Timothy Castagne, Issa Diop, Tim Ream, Antonee Robinson; Harrison Reed, Joao Palinha, Andreas Pereira; Harry Wilson, Raul Jimenez, Willian.
