Sergio Ramos fulfilled his dream of returning to Sevilla this summer. Eighteen years had passed since the Spanish club sold him to Real Madrid. There he stayed for more than a decade, became a star and won everything. He then spent two years at Paris Saint-Germain and, after becoming a free agent, waited for a call to return to his first club.

And it finally came. A few weeks ago he played his first game of the season against Las Palmas and last Wednesday he was again in the starting lineup in the Champions League debut against Lens, in which they drew 1-1. However, something horrible happened in the meantime.

At the same time that Ramos was playing for Sevilla at the Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium, a group of thieves found a way around security measures and broke into the defender's home, the finca 'La Alegría' (The Joy, in Spanish). At the time, his four children and nannies were inside the home, but not his wife Pilar Rubio, who was away on business.

According to reports, the thieves made off with a lot of valuables: money, jewelry, luxury watches and clothing of important brands. But the most important thing is that, fortunately, neither the children nor the nannies were injured in any way. Nevertheless, they all experienced a horrible moment that they will surely never forget.

It is not the first time this has happened

A similar event, although with a very different ending, happened to Sergio Ramos some years ago. In 2012, when he was a Real Madrid player, he was with his brother René at his home in the Conde Orgaz neighborhood of Madrid. At that time, thieves entered the home to rob him, but were surprised to find the brothers inside and fled. "They were inside, but it was not a violent robbery because there was no confrontation," said Sergio.
