Shocking ranking, the most powerful clubs on the planet according to Forbes

Forbes reveals the elite of world football

By Darwin Largo

As it happens every year, Forbes magazine published a list this week featuring the 30 most valuable football clubs in the world. This edition marks an increase from previous years, as they had previously only listed the top 20 clubs.

Within this list, the represented countries are Spain, England, Germany, Italy, France, and the United States. France has the fewest number of clubs with two, while England has the most with 12. However, the biggest surprise comes from the United States, with seven clubs, showcasing the growth of Major League Soccer (MLS).

The bottom five clubs on the list are Olympique Lyon, AS Roma, D.C. United, Toronto FC, and Austin FC. Meanwhile, the top 10 is occupied by Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal.

Fifth place belongs to Manchester City, fourth to Liverpool, and third to FC Barcelona. In second place is Manchester United, which deserves recognition for consistently remaining within the top five since Forbes started publishing this list.

According to this edition of Forbes magazine is Real Madrid, with a value of 1.014 billion USD. This is largely due to receiving 807 million USD after winning the previous edition of the Champions League. Real Madrid, along with Manchester United, are the only teams that have remained in the top five throughout the history of this list.
