There is only room for three more teams in the tournament to be held in Germany.

During the November international break, the teams that qualified directly for Euro 2024 were confirmed. Some, the most important ones, had already secured their place the previous month, such as France, England and Portugal, thanks to their strong performances in their respective groups. Others did so this week.

The teams that finished top of each group, and therefore qualified the fastest, were Spain, France, England, Turkey, Albania, Belgium, Hungary, Denmark, Romania and Portugal. They were joined by the teams that finished in second place: Scotland, Netherlands, Italy, Croatia, Czech Republic, Austria, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland and Slovakia. Naturally, Germany also had their place assured as the tournament organizers. That is why they did not compete in the qualifiers.

With 21 of 24 teams confirmed, only three spots remain open for the tournament to be played next summer, between June 14 and July 14. And that will be decided next year, during the international break in March. It has now been confirmed which 12 teams will compete to secure their place, and what the competition will be like.

There will be three groups of four teams each, which will eliminate each other in playoffs until the three winners of each path, who will qualify for Euro 2024. In the first path the favorites are Poland. Robert Lewandowski's team did not perform well and finished third in group E, but they will have the opportunity to redeem themselves. First they will face Estonia and, if they win, they will compete against the winner between Wales and Finland.

What are the other two groups?

In path B the favorites are Ukraine. They will face Bosnia and Herzegovina and, if they advance, they will play against the winner of Iceland and Israel. Finally, in path C, the duels will be Georgia vs Luxembourg and Greece vs Kazakhstan.
