In a surprising decision, Paris Saint-Germain's sporting director, Luis Campos, has informed Christophe Galtier that he will not continue as the team's coach next season. After a campaign marked by disappointment in the Champions League, the capital club has opted for a change in the dugout and is in search of a new coach.
The Parisian board has set their sights on Julian Nagelsmann, who has captured the attention of the club's top executives in Doha. It is expected that the German coach, who was dismissed by Bayern Munich last March, will arrive in Paris today, Wednesday, to continue negotiations.
Although Nagelsmann is still officially tied to Bayern, who continue to pay his salary, it is common in Germany to keep high-ranking employees until their contract expires. According to the local tabloid TZ, Bayern would be seeking financial compensation between 8 and 10 million euros for their former coach in the discussions with PSG.
This price may seem high, but Bayern, aware of Paris' growing interest in signing Julian Nagelsmann as soon as possible, could take advantage of the situation to seek a more favorable financial compensation.
Nagelsmann's arrival at PSG's dugout would represent a significant change in the team's coaching direction. With his reputation and experience in the Bundesliga, it is expected that the German coach will bring a new perspective and approach to the Parisian side, aiming to achieve success in the upcoming season and overcome past disappointments in the Champions League.
