Man Utd sacked him and now nobody wants him, De Gea could make the toughest decision

The Spanish goalkeeper left The Red Devils after 12 years.

This summer Manchester United offered David De Gea a contract renewal, but with a lower salary than the one he had until now. The club's chiefs considered that, at the age of 32, the player's best performances were already in the past; at the same time, coach Erik Ten Hag had intentions to sign another top-level goalkeeper.

De Gea finally rejected the renewal proposal and said goodbye to the Red Devils after 12 seasons, in which he played 545 games and won 8 titles. In his place, the English side spent more than $50 million on André Onana, who had excelled last season at Inter.

Almost 3 months after leaving Manchester United, the Spanish goalkeeper is still a free agent. Reports indicate that he turned down several offers from Saudi Arabian clubs who were willing to pay him a fortune, like so many other stars who joined the Pro League this summer. However, he preferred to say no and wait for offers from teams competing in higher level leagues.

The problem is that this did not happen. Although he was mentioned as a possible signing by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, in the end these clubs chose other goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga and Daniel Peretz, respectively. That is why David De Gea continues to train on his own, waiting for an offer that satisfies him in sporting terms.

He could make a touch choice

After 3 months training on his own while waiting for a convincing offer, it seems that David De Gea is losing patience. According to The Guardian, the Spanish goalkeeper is considering making an unexpected decision: to put an end to his professional career if an opportunity that motivates him does not appear. His goal is to play for a top team that assure him a place in the XI.
