Barcelona vs Real Madrid is probably the most important match in world soccer. They are two of the strongest teams in Europe, especially in the last two decades, and every time they face each other, fans from all five continents wait anxiously in front of their TV sets to see them in action. This year the context will be a little different, as it will not be played at Camp Nou, Barcelona's home which is currently under repair, but at the Estadio Olimpico Lluis Companys in Montjuic.
Los Merengues come into this match in second place in the La Liga standings with 25 points, as on Friday the surprising Girona beat Celta to become the sole leaders of the standings with 28 points. Los Culés are four points off the top. That is why this Saturday's match is so important, as whoever loses will be far from the top spot.
Coach Xavi Hernandez has had some good news this week: important players in the squad such as Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Jules Koundé have recovered from their respective injuries and are in the squad. The absentees are Frenkie De Jong, Pedri and Sergi Roberto.
Barcelona's starting lineup will be: Marc André Ter Stegen; Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Iñigo Martinez, Alejandro Balde; Ilkay Gundogan, Gavi, Fermin Lopez; Joao Cancelo, Ferran Torres, Joao Felix. Also on the bench will be Iñaki Peña, Ander Astralaga, Jules Koundé, Hector Fort, Pau Cubarsi, Marcos Alonso, Marc Casado, Oriol Romeu, Raphinha, Marc Guiu, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal.
Real Madrid have had a great start to the season, but the only game they lost was the derby against Atlético Madrid. Now they don't want to fail again in another important match and that's why manager Carlo Ancelotti will put on the field the best possible team: Kepa Arrizabalaga; Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, Ferland Mendy; Federico Valverde, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Toni Kroos, Jude Bellingham; Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo. In addition, the substitutes will be Andriy Lunin, Diego Piñeiro, Francisco Garcia, Nacho, Lucas Vazquez, Brahim Diaz, Luka Modric, Eduardo Camavinga and Joselu.
