The Saudi Arabian side want to be champions of the Pro League again.

This week the Saudi Arabian Pro League was in the news again because of the strong criticism that some players and coaches from Europe made regarding the multi-million dollar signings this summer. The next star to follow in Cristiano Ronaldo's footsteps is Gabri Veiga, who will leave Celta Vigo for Al-Ahli for $40 million.

But she may not be the last. In Saudi Arabia the transfer window will remain open until September 20, that is, almost 3 weeks longer than in the main European leagues. So they still have plenty of time to keep tempting top players to join the Pro League.

And one of the Premier League's top stars is the next target. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Al-Ittihad have targeted a winger to replace Portuguese Jota, who arrived recently but failed to meet expectations. The player is Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's top star and one of the most important forwards in Europe, alongside Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé.

The Saudi Arabian side are willing to pay more than $300 million to sign him right now. $100 million will go to The Reds, as compensation for taking him now, while the remaining $200 million would be the salary of the player, who would be signed on a 3-season contract. This way, Al-Ittihad would have an impressive attacking duo: Karim Benzema - Mohamed Salah.

Not all are good news

While negotiating for Salah, Al-Ittihad have problems to solve. According to reports, in recent weeks there has been tension in the squad due to conflicts between Karim Benzema and coach Nuno Espiritu Santo. Apparently, the manager did not ask for the French striker and is not satisfied with the level he has played in his first few games. In addition, he decided not to make him the team's skipper. And some say that Benzema is not happy with the situation, considering that Nuno Espiritu Santo has had an "unprofessional treatment" with him.
