Here's Salah, Liverpool face LASK in Europa League and 'Mo' is in the XI

The Reds need a win to get closer to the next stage of the tournament.

Liverpool are not 100% satisfied with what they are doing this season. They have shown good performances, but they have failed in some key games and that has complicated their plans. Last weekend they had the chance to become leaders of the Premier League standings, as they faced Manchester City, but they drew 1-1 and ended up in third place.

And in the UEFA Europa League something similar happened to them. In their last match they visited Toulouse FC, their strongest rivals in group E. If they got a win in France, they practically assured their place in the round of 16 of the tournament, but they did not perform well and lost 3-2. So now, although they are still the leaders, they are only two points ahead of Toulouse FC.

This Thursday they will have the chance to get closer to their goal. At Anfield Road they will face LASK from Austria, the weakest team in the group. But coach Jurgen Klopp knows that they cannot relax and that they will have to work hard to get the three points. That is why he decided that most of the squad's stars will be part of the starting lineup, such as Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.

The Reds' XI will be: Caoimhin Kelleher; Jarell Quansah, Joseph Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Konstantinos Tsimikas; Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliot; Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz. On the bench will be Marcelo, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luke Chambers, Conor Bradley, Joel Matip, Virgil Van Dijk, Curtis Jones, Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez, Kaide Gordon and Ben Doak.

They have a different goal

LASK know it will be nearly impossible for them to advance to the round of 16 in the tournament. But that doesn't mean they have given up hope: if they reach third place in the group, they will be able to compete in the Conference League. That's why they will do their best to get at least a draw at Anfield Road. Coach Thomas Sageder chose this XI: Tobias Lawal; Philipp Ziereis, Andres Andrade, Maksym Talovierov; Filip Stojkovic, Sascha Horvath, Ivan Ljubic, George Bello; Robert Zulj, Moses Usor, Marin Ljubicic.
