"He did more in 3 months than Messi did in 2 years" PSG fans say about this player

Leo did not have a happy experience in France and it shows.

Leo did not have a happy experience in France and it shows.

Lionel Messi arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 after an unexpected departure from Barcelona, who announced that they could not renew his contract due to problems with financial fair play. The French fans welcomed him as a star, as they were confident that with him, added to Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr, they were finally going to become the best team in Europe.

But things did not turn out as expected. The team's performances during the two seasons Leo was there were far from expectations and they failed in the Champions League round of 16, against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. So hope turned to anger and finally the Argentine player left the club claiming that he had not been happy there.

Several months have passed since then, but the wound is still open. This became clear this week, when Argentina faced Uruguay in the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. During the match, Messi had a fierce quarrel with some Uruguayan players, including PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte. And afterwards, at the press conference, he said: "These youngsters have to learn respect from the older ones".

When Paris Saint-Germain fans heard about this, they wrote messages on social media in support of Ugarte and against Leo. One opined, "Ugarte did more in 3 months with PSG than Messi did in 2 years." And another added: "Ugarte gave a message to PSG fans. We don't forget how Messi sh... on us".

When will they play again?

After the 2-0 defeat against Uruguay last Thursday, the Argentine national team has only one more game to play in 2023. It will be next Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro against Brazil, for the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup to be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
