The arrival of Luis Enrique at Paris Saint-Germain has brought about many changes. This Saturday they will play their first game in Ligue 1 2023/24 against Lorient and the team will be very different from the last seasons. Some players left (or will leave) by decision of Nasser Al-Khelaifi regardless of the manager's opinion, like Verratti and Neymar. But others are not taken into account by the coach and are therefore looking for a way out this summer.

Among them is Leandro Paredes. The Argentine player, world champion at Qatar 2022, had been loaned last year to Juventus, as he was not in Christophe Galtier's plans. This summer he had returned to France in the hope that Luis Enrique would consider him as an alternative for the team. However, this did not happen and for weeks he has been training away from the squad, along with other players who are in the same situation, such as Julian Draxler and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Last week Paredes was mentioned in the media and social networks, as PSG agreed his transfer to Galatasaray. But the midfielder has no interest in playing in Turkey and rejected the offer.

Now he could find a destination that comes close to his wishes: AS Roma. According to Marca, coach José Mourinho asked for his signing, and the player and the Italian side are close to an agreement. What is missing is for PSG to accept the conditions of his departure, something that has not happened so far. However, the parties are optimistic that the differences between the clubs will be resolved.

They already know him

Should Leandro Paredes' arrival be agreed, it will be his third spell at AS Roma. He first played there in the 2014/15 season, then was loaned to Empoli and returned in 2016, staying for a year before being sold to Zenit. He played 54 games for the Italian side, scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists.
