The Citizens already lost Gundogan and now another key player could leave the team.

It is unusual what is happening with Manchester City. After winning the treble, that is the three most important titles of the season (Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League) and being recognized by fans around the world as the best team in Europe, now they keep receiving bad news.

There are many players who, despite having been important during the last season in Pep Guardiola's team, intend to leave and sign with other sides. The first of them was team captain Ilkay Gundogan, who decided not to renew his contract with Manchester City and leave as a free agent to Barcelona. The same could happen with Riyad Mahrez, who has offers from Saudi Arabia, and Kyle Walker, wanted by Bayern Munich.

And if that wasn't enough, now one of the team's best players, Bernardo Silva, could follow the same path. Recently Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, publicly acknowledged that he is interested in signing the Portuguese midfielder. Coach Xavi Hernandez believes he could be an ideal signing for his team.

Silva has a contract until 2025 with Manchester City, but according to Mundo Deportivo, Guardiola has promised him that if he receives a tempting offer, he is willing to allow him to leave. Obviously, there must also be an economic offer that convinces the English side.

He will have to find replacements

If Bernardo Silva's departure to Barcelona is confirmed, Manchester City's Spanish coach will request the signing of new players. So far, he has only added Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic, for whom the Citizens paid $30 million to Chelsea. However, it will surely not be enough to cover the departure of the Portuguese midfielder and Guardiola will try to find a player who can help maintain the team's level.
