A few weeks ago Eden Hazard announced his decision to end his professional career. Barely 32 years old, he was tired of the pressures of the soccer world and the disappointment of his last years at Real Madrid. There he had arrived in 2019 being a star of Chelsea and the Belgium National Team, but injuries prevented him from showing that level in Spain and he could never recover.
However, there are different examples as well. Isco Alarcón was also a Real Madrid star and was even Hazard's teammate there. With Los Merengues he played more than 350 games and won 19 titles, including 5 Champions League. But physical problems and differences with some coaches made him lose his place in the team. That is why he left in 2022 to Sevilla, where he could not shine either.
For six months he was a free agent and his career seemed finished, but this summer he agreed his arrival to Real Betis and there everything changed. Since then he has played 14 games in La Liga, scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists, proving that at 31 years old he still has a lot to give.
That is why, according to the newspaper Marca, it is possible that he will be included by coach Luis De La Fuente in the list of called-up players of the Spanish National Team for the international break in November. There they will face Cyprus and Georgia, on November 16 and 19 respectively, in the qualifiers for Euro 2024.
Reports indicate that so far there have been no talks between Isco and De La Fuente, but the midfielder is eager to return to the national team and the coach knows it. The problem is that surely some player who was in the last international breaks should leave to make way for Isco, so it is not an easy decision for De La Fuente.
