'FIFA virus' strikes Real Madrid: these two stars will be out for a long time

The 'FIFA virus' is the name that the European press has given to a problem that coaches of the most important clubs in the world usually suffer. This time Real Madrid were the victim of the 'FIFA virus'. This week two important players for Carlo Ancelotti suffered injuries that will prevent them from playing for a long time. The first of them was Eduardo Camavinga. The midfielder suffered a blow to his knee after a collision with Ousmane Dembélé during a training session with the France national team.

"Following tests carried out today on our player Eduardo Camavinga by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a rupture of the external lateral ligament in his right knee. Pending evolution," reads the statement released by the Spanish side. The injury is finally more serious than expected and his recovery will take at least two months. This means that he will not play again in 2023 and will miss at least 6 La Liga and 2 Champions League matches.

Vinicius also has problems

Camavinga is not the only Real Madrid player who had physical problems this week. Vinicius Junior suffered a muscle injury during the first minutes of the match between Colombia and Brazil in Barranquilla. For that reason he had to be replaced and, after the match, when asked about it, he said: "I think it's the same as last time. I received a blow there and I resented it a little later. Tomorrow we'll do tests to see how I'm doing". Between August 25 and September 27 he was sidelined with a similar injury.
