The Portuguese striker netted the third goal in the 3-1 win against Al-Ettifaq.

Cristiano Ronaldo never ceases to amaze fans around the world. At 38 years old, he is still showing a great level on the field and continues to do what he does best: score goals. Nobody has scored more goals than him in the history of soccer and age is not an impediment to continue doing so.

This Friday CR7 was part of Al-Nassr's starting lineup in the Pro League match against Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq. It was a tough test for them, as their opponents have proven this season to be a very competitive team. However, they found a way to overcome them and came away with an important victory.

Alex Telles scored the opener with just a few minutes left before halftime. The Brazilian defender captured a rebound near the box and netted a beautiful goal with a strong shot. After the break, Cristiano assisted with a header to Marcelo Brozovic for the second goal. With that advantage, Al-Nassr were able to control the ball and the pace of the match, making it impossible for their rivals to react.

And 28 minutes into the second half came the moment everyone was waiting for. The referee awarded a penalty after a shot by Sadio Mane and a handball by an Al-Ettifaq defender. Cristiano Ronaldo took charge of the kick and shot next to the left post, making it impossible for the goalkeeper to react. Then there was only time left for Al Kuwaykibi's goal, but Gerrard's team had no time to do anything else.

He is close to the record

Friday's was Cristiano Ronaldo's 51st goal in 2023. It took him past Erling Haaland, who scored 50, and moved him closer to Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé. The Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain strikers netted 52 goals this year, but will no longer play official matches until 2024, while CR7 will have two more with Al-Nassr. This means he has a good chance of becoming the world's top scorer once again.
