The defender had to be replaced during the match between Scotland and Spain.

In every international break club coaches fear that some of their players will return from their respective national team with injuries. The 'FIFA virus' hit Liverpool this time. In Thursday's Euro 2024 qualifier between Spain and Scotland, Andrew Robertson suffered a potentially serious injury.

44 minutes into the first half, the left-back collided with goalkeeper Unai Simon inside the box and the referee immediately called for medical assistance. Andrew could not continue playing and Nathan Patterson came on in his place. The TV cameras captured the moment when the player was leaving the field with his right shoulder immobilized and obvious signs of concern.

After the game, the Scottish coach Steve Clark gave a press conference and gave details about this: "He hurt his shoulder. It was an immediate decision to take him off. He will go back to his club to be assessed."

TransfersRadar reported on Friday: "Andrew Robertson has now returned to Liverpool to undergo medical examinations on his shoulder injury. Told he will be undergoing scans on his shoulder today but the current feeling is worry, they may have to go without him for a while."

Trouble for coach

While there are no official announcements on Andew Robertson's injury yet, there are fears that he could be out of action for a long time. This caused concern for Jurgen Klopp, who could lose one of his most important players at a crucial moment of the season. After the international break, The Reds will have an important Premier League match: the derby against Everton at Anfield Road on Saturday, October 21. And five days later they will face Toulouse FC in the third UEFA Europa League Group F match.
