Alarm in Barcelona, Laporta couldn't keep his promise and a star could leave

Xavi Hernandez must be worried. Xavi wants an attacking midfielder and a forward, in addition to needing to register two players who are already in the squad but are not yet eligible to play: Iñaki Peña and Iñigo Martínez.

The latter arrived this summer as one of Barcelona's star signings, but the club's serious economic problems and financial fair play rules have prevented them from registering him for now. Faced with this situation, the center-back could make a drastic decision.

According to Sport newspaper, the contract between Martinez and Barcelona has an escape clause that allows the player to leave on loan in case the side fails to register him before the close of the transfer window. This means that if the defender believes that Joan Laporta will not be able to solve the problem in time, he can activate the clause and leave for another club before September 2.

If Iñigo Martínez's situation remains unresolved and the player leaves, the manager will have a serious problem. This summer he requested the signing of the former Athletic Bilbao defender because he felt he needed to strengthen the team in that sector of the field.
