The Pro League team are struggling at the start of the season.

The Saudi Arabian league has grown unexpectedly this year to become one of the most important tournaments in the world. It all started in December 2022, when Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United to accept an impressive $200 million per year offer from Al-Nassr. And this summer many other stars followed suit, opting for the Pro League instead of continuing in Europe.

Against this backdrop, one of the Saudi Arabian clubs that signed the most top players is Al-Ittihad. The last Pro League champions want to repeat their title and have therefore agreed on the arrival of Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kanté and Fabinho. However, they are not happy with the team's performance at the start of the season, as they lost 3-0 against Al-Raed.

This has led to internal conflicts that could lead to the departure of some players. According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, the club's chiefs and fans are unhappy with Jota, the Portuguese striker who arrived this summer from Celtic for $30 million. They do not consider him to be a star on a par with Benzema and therefore want him to leave now.

And the same could happen with other players in the squad, such as Brazilian goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe and Egyptian midfielder Tarek Hamed. In fact, the latter is close to agreeing a move to Al-Wahda Mecca, another Pro League team.

They have a plan

Al-Ittihad not only want to get rid of some of the players in the squad who have not performed up to expectations, but they are also thinking of signing more stars. According to reports, the player targeted this summer is Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool winger is under contract in England until June 2025, making it difficult for the Reds to accept his departure now. However, a multi-million dollar offer could change everything.
