Paris Saint-Germain has made the decision to offload several players from the current squad ahead of the 2023/24 season, with Brazilian Neymar being one of the prominent names in this regard.
Such is PSG's interest in parting ways with the Brazilian forward that they would accept any offer that comes close to 90 million EUR, far from the 222 million euros they paid for him when he was a player at Barcelona. This indicates that PSG believes Neymar, despite his underwhelming performance in recent years, could still attract interest from several top European teams.
Neymar is rumored to be interested in returning to Barcelona, the club with which he won the Champions League and experienced some of his best moments. To facilitate his return, Neymar would be willing to make a financial sacrifice and lower his salary.
Neymar's high wage, as one of the highest-paid footballers in the world at the moment, makes it challenging for Paris Saint-Germain to put an end to the Brazilian attacker's time in Ligue 1.
PSG's interest in selling Neymar is partly due to the need to generate significant funds that would allow them to make other signings and avoid further failure in the Champions League. Although Neymar has had inconsistent performances in recent years, the Parisian club believes that his name could still attract top European teams and generate a significant sale.
