Barcelona continues to explore the transfer market in search of new options to reinforce their squad for the upcoming season. One of the names that has gained strength in the forward position is Paulo Dybala, whose release clause of 12 million EUR makes him a desirable target for Xavi Hernández.
At 29 years old, Dybala has been one of the standout players for Roma in the 2022/23 season. His arrival last summer, at the explicit request of José Mourinho, has allowed the Argentine forward to showcase his best version and become a key piece in the team's attack.
However, Roma is aware that they could lose one of their most valuable players for an absurdly low price if they fail to reach a renewal agreement that includes an improvement in his release clause.
Despite injuries, Dybala has managed to score 16 goals and provide eight assists in 34 matches this season. These numbers have caught the attention of FC Barcelona, which would be willing to take the risk and bet on the player's talent if the opportunity arises.
Although the club's financial situation is complicated, the 12 million EUR of the release clause are affordable for the Blaugrana. However, before finalizing the signing of the Argentinean player, Barcelona will need to free up certain wage mass in their current squad.
