Jordi Alba bids farewell to Barcelona, and this is what he leaves behind

Jordi Alba bid farewell to Barcelona in an emotional ceremony held at the Auditori 1899, surrounded by loved ones, teammates, and members of the club's board. The player has left the club on a high note and welcomes the new generation, following a season in which he lost prominence at left-back due to the emergence of Alejandro Balde.

During the event, Alba received video messages from many of his friends, teammates, and former teammates, but it was Joan Laporta who delivered moving words to the defender. In addition to being a club legend, Alba has made a financial effort that will benefit Barcelona's finances in the transfer market.

In the upcoming season, the 34-year-old player was set to become the highest-paid player in the squad, with a salary of around 36 million EUR. However, Alba has completely waived this amount, which will greatly aid the club's interests in the transfer market.

With the departure of the team's former vice-captain, Barcelona's board understands that they will have more room to strengthen Xavi Hernández's squad and register players who recently renewed their contracts. Although they are still awaiting approval of the economic viability plan from LaLiga, they are aware that the savings from Alba's wages will be an important factor that will carry weight in complying with Financial Fair Play.

He has managed to score 27 goals and provide 91 assists. Additionally, he has won 18 titles with Barcelona, including 6 league titles, 1 FIFA Club World Cup, and 1 Champions League.
