Spanish full-back Jordi Alba has announced his departure from Camp Nou at the end of the 2022/23 season, following an outstanding career in which he won six LaLiga titles in 11 seasons with Barcelona.
Alba's farewell marks the end of an era at the Catalan club, along with the retirement of captain Sergio Busquets, who have been iconic figures for the team and have left an indelible mark on the club and all Barcelona fans will remember them forever.
Although it is expected that neither of the two players will retire from football, as Busquets may seek an experience in the United States within the MLS, while Jordi Alba has expressed interest in continuing his career in Europe for at least one more season.
Jordi Alba will not be present in Barcelona's final match of the season against Celta de Vigo, as he decided to terminate his contract with the club days before it ended, and it is expected that in the coming days he will confirm his next destination.
According to reports from Marca, Inter Milan has shown interest in signing the Spanish defender, as well as Benfica, one of the top Portuguese clubs. Both teams would be willing to offer him a one-year contract; however, Alba will seek a two-year commitment in his next football challenge.
