Will he join CR7?

In December 2022 Cristiano Ronaldo changed the map of world soccer forever when he announced his decision to join Al-Nassr. Until then, few players had paid attention to the Saudi Arabian league, but since then the tournament has grown a lot and now millions of fans around the world pay attention to what happens there every weekend.

And behind CR7 were many other stars who were tempted by the multi-million salaries of the Pro League. The most important cases are Neymar Junior, who left Paris Saint-Germain for Al-Hilal, Karim Benzema, at Al-Ittihad after his successful spell at Real Madrid, and Riyad Mahrez, who left Pep Guardiola's Treble-winners Manchester City to join Al-Ahli.

To keep up with the other teams in the country and to properly accompany Cristiano, Al-Nassr signed many stars from Europe this summer, such as Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, Otavinho and Marcelo Brozovic. This allowed them to build a competitive team and win the Arab Club Champions Cup title. But apparently it is not enough.

That is why they are now interested in adding an important player from Manchester United: Raphael Varane. The 30-year-old defender has not had too much participation with the Red Devils this season and that is why his future may be at another club. The journalist Ben Jacobs said: "Manchester United won't trigger Raphael Varane's one-year extension. Possible a new deal is offered on reduced terms, though. Those close to Varane have downplayed a Saudi move in 2024, but dealmakers still think he's a very concrete possibility. Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr hold an interest".

He could be reunited with CR7

Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo were teammates for a long time. They first coincided at Real Madrid, between 2011 and 2018, and then again at Manchester United, between 2021 and 2022. Should he join Al-Nassr, the French defender will play with CR7 for the third time in his professional career.
