What's wrong with Kane? Coach Tuchel's confession about crisis at Bayern Munich

The Bavarian side have struggled of late and Harry is not happy.

Bayern Munich have dominated the Bundesliga for more than a decade. They have won the German league title for the last eleven consecutive seasons, an impressive record, but this year there are serious risks of that streak coming to an end. They have found in Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen a dangerous opponent that has not lost any of the 22 games they played and last week they beat them 3-0.

That defeat was a blow to the Bavarian side, who were 5 points behind them in the standings. And that advantage increased even more this Saturday, when the leaders beat Heidenheim 2-1. So now the margin for error is getting smaller and smaller for Bayern Munich: they know that they will need to win almost every game until the end of the season to compete with Bayer Leverkusen and that, even then, it might not be enough to be champions. And that's not all, as in the Champions League they lost the first leg of the round of 16 against Lazio.

This situation, atypical for them in recent years, has made the mood in the squad not good. Thomas Tuchel admitted as much at a press conference before Sunday's game against Bochum: "It's a strange situation. The mood is obviously a bit gloomy, because we were expecting a reaction from us. That said, we've only lost the first leg and we're not out of the Champions League yet. We are all committed to turning things around."

The manager was then asked about Harry Kane, who is rumored to be unhappy with the team's performances, and said, "He's not happy with the level in games. Neither are we. I've rarely seen such a discrepancy between training and games. The way he scores in training, the way he takes his chances, it's unbelievable. He's world class. But we rarely meet him in games. He acts like a captain. It's all good with him."

Harry must be frustrated

Kane arrived this summer at Bayern Munich in exchange for more than $110 million from Tottenham. His main motivation for leaving the Premier League was to play for a club competing to win titles, something he never achieved in his professional career. But things are not going his way: the Bavarian side lost the German Super Cup, were eliminated from the German Cup and are far from the top of the Bundesliga standings.
