Vinicius wanted to humiliate a rival player and things turned out badly for him

The Real Madrid winger got into an argument with Rodrigo De Paul.

He shouldn't have done that.

A few days have passed since the match between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid for the round of 16 of the Copa del Rey and still hidden details of what happened at the Civitas Metropolitano stadium continue to be discovered. Just like what had happened a few days earlier in Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup, it was a hard-fought derby and players from both teams had many arguments with each other.

One of the protagonists was Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian winger had been the hero of Los Merengues in the 'Clasico' against Barcelona last Sunday, where he scored a hat-trick. But he was also targeted by the rival players, who considered that he had had reprehensible attitudes and had been provocative during the match. In fact, he himself admitted at a press conference afterwards that he had behaved badly.

And the same thing happened again against Atlético Madrid. 'Vini' had discussions with some rival players during the match, but this time things did not go well for him. Firstly, because the result this time was unfavorable for Real Madrid, who lost 4-2 and were eliminated from the Copa del Rey. But also because of a specific situation that happened with Rodrigo De Paul.

At one point during the second half, both players started an argument in which Vinicius Junior pointed to the logo on his shirt and said: "I play for Real Madrid", with the intention of humiliating his rival by pointing out that his club is better than Atlético Madrid. He then added: "And who are you?". But De Paul's response was an unexpected blow: "I am a world champion".

Rodrigo won the most important title

The Atlético Madrid midfielder won the World Cup with the Argentina National Team in Qatar 2022 alongside Lionel Messi, being a key player of the team and playing all seven games of the tournament. Vinicius Junior was not so successful: with Brazil, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Croatia in penalty shoot-out, which stretched to 24 years the streak without world titles for Brazil.
