It was a bad moment.

This week the Champions League activity will resume. After exactly two months since the end of the group stage, the knock-out stages will begin to be played and the best teams in Europe will face each other with the aim of going as far as possible in the tournament. Two matches will be played this Tuesday: in Denmark, Manchester City will visit Copenhagen; while in Germany, RB Leipzig will face Real Madrid.

Betrayal? Florentino's favorite coach for Real Madrid could go to Barcelona

Carlo Ancelotti's team is one of the favorites to win the title, considering that they were champions in the 2021/22 season and semifinalists last year. Moreover, they are now showing excellent performances in La Liga, where they are leading the standings with a 5-point advantage over Girona (whom they beat last weekend) and 10 points over Barcelona.

Aiming to get off to the best possible start in the Champions League round of 16, Los Merengues traveled to Germany to prepare for the match against RB Leipzig. But something unexpected happened there: the plane they were flying in could not land in Leipzig and had to land in Erfurt. So then the players and staff had to take a bus and travel the 100 miles that separate the two cities by freeway.

While they were making this trip, they had an accident with another car. According to reports, the driver of that other vehicle made an improper maneuver and, apparently out of distraction, collided with the Real Madrid bus. "The car suffered damages amounting to about 3,000 euros. The extent of the damage sustained by the Real Madrid bus is not yet clear. After a brief stop, fortunately all those involved continued on without suffering any accidents," reported Bild.

They are all okay

Fortunately, none of the people involved in the accident suffered any injuries. That means Real Madrid will be ready to play this Tuesday's match against RB Leipzig, which will be one of the most important games for them this year, as their big goal this season is to win the Champions League title again.
