Luis will be Inter Miami's striker.

Inter Miami are already focused on the 2024 season. The goal for this year is to improve on their 2023 performance, in which they won their first ever Leagues Cup title and reached the final of the US Open Cup. However, they failed to qualify for the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference playoffs and that was a tough blow.

But now, unlike last year, they have the opportunity to start the preseason working with coach Gerardo Martino and his assistants, and with all the stars of the squad such as Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. This will be key, as they will be able to get in top physical condition and face a season that will be very demanding. In addition, they were joined by other top players, such as German midfielder Julian Gressel and Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.

The latter arrived after expiring his contract with Gremio of Brazil and, at the age of 36, will have the chance to reunite with former Barcelona teammates such as Messi, Busquets and Alba. In an interview with Fox Sports, he explained what this new stage means to him: "Now coming here generates a certain expectation because my friends are here. We are friends because we want to win, because we want to make Inter Miami bigger. We want to achieve important things in a new club that has been competing for four years and that will be nice for us".

Suarez then shocked everyone by revealing his reaction to the criticism: "I went to Brazil last year and they said 'Mmm, Brazilian soccer. Luis is 36 years old, he's old, he's lame, he's fat'. All that. I like it when they say that. I like the criticism, it makes me a little stronger".
