He made a mistake.

Antoine Griezmann has accomplished almost everything he set out to do in his professional career. He was born in France, but when he was just a teenager he came to Spain to play for Real Sociedad, where he excelled as a left-winger. His excellent performances allowed him to reach the France National Team, with which he played in the Brazil 2014 World Cup. And upon his return to Europe, his transfer to Atlético Madrid was confirmed.

With Los Colchoneros he showed all his talent and quickly became a key player for coach Diego Simeone, while his prominence with France grew until he became the most important player of the team in the Russia 2018 World Cup, where he was champion along with other stars such as Kylian Mbappé, Olivier Giroud and Paul Pogba.

At that time everything was going perfectly for Antoine, but then he made a huge mistake: he decided to leave Atletico Madrid to join Barcelona. This made the fans of his former club very angry with him, while in Catalunya he could never be as happy off and on the field. That is why, just two years later, he regretted his decision and did everything he could to return to Madrid.

Now, in an interview with Atlético Madrid's official media, Griezmann revealed details of that situation: "I wanted to try and after months I realized that I was not as happy as I was in Madrid and Atleti, I tried to return and I remember that when the coach called me the last day of the transfer window I told him 'I want to return no matter what'". And then he admitted: "It's a joy and pride to be here, I made a mistake, but I do everything to make them proud of their number 7".

Things are going well for him
