The soccer tournament that has grown the most over the last year is the Pro League. Since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr changed the world soccer map, since then many other stars started to consider Saudi Arabia as a possible destination, especially because of the multi-million salaries they were offered from there.

Last summer, top players followed CR7's path, such as Neymar Junior, Bono, Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (Al-Hilal); Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximine (Al-Ahli); Karim Benzema, Fabinho, Jota, N'Golo Kanté (Al-Ittihad); Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, Aymeric Laporte (Al-Nassr) and Jordan Henderson (Al-Ettifaq).
The aim of the chiefs was to raise the level of the tournament and attract the attention of fans from all over the world, to turn the Pro League into a competition on a par with the Premier League or La Liga. But that hasn't happened, at least so far. And many of those players who arrived in Saudi Arabia just six months ago are apparently now regretting their decision and want to return to Europe. Reports indicate that Karim Benzema, Roberto Firmino and Jordan Henderson are among them.
According to The Sun, there are four main reasons that caused the disappointment and discomfort of these stars. The first is the brutal heat in Saudi Arabia. At certain times of the year temperatures can exceed 40° Celsius (about 104.0° Fahrenheit) and this forces clubs to organize training sessions during the night. Another reason is related to the country's cultural differences with Europe. The players' female partners are not legally allowed out in public alone and citizens and visitors are forbidden to drink alcohol, for example.

In addition, the players have soccer-related concerns as well. One of them is the lack of fan interest, with an average stadium attendance of 2,000 people. And finally, the level of the tournament: many players fear losing their place in their respective national teams because they are playing in a lower quality league than England, Spain or Germany. And this year will be played, so nobody wants to miss that opportunity.
