Fans in Hong Kong are paying a fortune to see Inter Miami, but Messi may not be there

Inter Miami are preparing to take on the 2024 season, in which they will aim to improve on last year's performance. After winning the 2023 Leagues Cup, they will now try to become champions of Major League Soccer for the first time, as well as the CONCACAF Champions League, which will give them a place in the Club World Cup.

To that end, the chiefs are working on recruiting top players and have already agreed on the arrival of Luis Suarez and Julian Gressel. Meanwhile, the squad started the preseason this week in Miami, where they will work for a few days before starting a tour of friendly matches that will last almost a month.

They will first travel to Central America to face the El Salvador national team on January 19 at the Cuscatlan Stadium. On January 22 they will return to the United States to play Dallas FC at Cotton Bowl Stadium. And a week later they will fly to Asia, where they will participate in the Riyadh Season Cup in Saudi Arabia (January 29 against Al-Hilal and February 1 against Al-Nassr).

The tour will continue in Hong Kong, where they will face an all-star team from the local league on February 4. There, there is a lot of expectation to see Lionel Messi and that is why tickets sold out in less than an hour. They are now being sold on resale websites for impressive prices, reaching up to $1500 a pair. However, the organizers of the match have warned fans that Leo's presence in the match, as well as other stars such as Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez, is not yet confirmed.

What's next for them?

After playing in Hong Kong, Inter Miami will travel to Japan to face Vissel Kobe on February 7. Back in Florida, they will play their final friendly match against Newell's Old Boys of Argentina at DRV PNK Stadium on February 15, just days before the start of the 2024 MLS season.
