For months there has been talk about the future of Kylian Mbappé after the end of the 2023/24 season. He has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 30, but it is unclear what he wants to do next. The French side have two options for him to stay: for him to activate the automatic extension clause of his contract until the summer of 2025 or to accept the offer of renewal for four more years, with a salary in excess of $100 million per year.

How Mbappé's arrival at Real Madrid could destroy his biggest dream
His other alternatives lie outside France. One is to join Real Madrid, who have been interested in him for years and can offer him something he never achieved: competing for the Champions League title with a team that is used to winning it. The other favorites are Liverpool, who are also used to competing in Europe (despite not having qualified for the Champions League this year) and who also have the advantage of participating in the best league in the world, the English league.
According to reports, Mbappé has already made a decision, although so far no one knows what it is. However, there are reasons to believe that this may be his last season at PSG. Spanish journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon assured this week: "From Paris they transmit me pessimism regarding his renewal. They do not give him up for lost, but Mbappé's signals lead them to be pessimistic."
If this is confirmed, his future will be in Spain or England. Carlos Carpio, journalist for Marca, revealed in a conversation with Alvarez de Mon: "Real Madrid are the preferred option, but I do not know if it is the only one and he could be considering leaving for the Premier League. I think we will soon find out, because if he has decided to sign for Real Madrid, it will be rare that there will not be a leak in the coming months".

While he decides what he will do next summer, Kylian Mbappé is focused on leading PSG to the top this season. They are top of the Ligue 1 standings and qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League. On February 14, they will play the first leg against Real Sociedad at the Parc des Princes.
