Galatasaray and Manchester United played one of the most interesting and exciting matches of the year. At the Rams Global Stadium, both teams needed to win to get closer to qualifying for the round of 16 of the Champions League. In Group A, the leaders are Bayern Munich, while the rest are competing for second place in the standings.

The English side were the most in need, as they were last in the group and if they lost they would have no chance of advancing to the next phase. That is why they worked hard to overcome their rivals and, in the first minutes of the match, they succeeded. Alejandro Garnacho scored the opener after 10 minutes with a strong left foot shot, while Bruno Fernandes doubled the lead moments later with another beautiful goal.

Things seemed to be going perfectly for the Red Devils, but something unexpected happened. After 29 minutes of the first half, the hosts had a free kick near the box and Hakim Ziyech took it. His shot didn't look too difficult, but goalkeeper André Onana didn't react in time and allowed the goal.

In the second half Manchester United scored the third goal through Scott McTominay, after a drilled cross from Aaron Wan-Bissaka and again seemed to have things under control. But Onana had other plans. As in the first half, he had a terrible reaction to Ziyech's free kick and gave Galatasaray another chance, which in the 26th minute netted the equaliser thanks to a beautiful goal by Kerem Akturkoglu. The 3-3 draw leaves the English team in a difficult situation, not depending on themselves to advance to the round of 16.

It was a bad investment

André Onana was hired by Manchester United at the request of Erik Ten Hag. He had coached him at Ajax and trusted his talent and personality. That's why he convinced the club's chiefs to pay more than $55 million to Inter for him. But the investment has not paid off, as the goalkeeper has made serious mistakes that the team paid dearly for.
