Barcelona are having increasingly better performances in the 2023/24 season. After a start in which they did not shine against Getafe, Cadiz and Villarreal, the team's level grew and last week they amazed the fans with 5-0 thrashings, against Real Betis in La Liga and vs. Royal Antwerp from Belgium in the Champions League debut.
Now they will have an ideal opportunity to become leaders in the Spanish league standings. So far they are second, two points behind Real Madrid. But Los Merengues will play this Sunday against Atlético Madrid in the derby of the Spanish capital. It will be a very difficult match for them and perhaps their consecutive winning streak will come to an end. That is why Los Blaugranas want to beat Celta this Saturday and overtake Real Madrid in the standings.
For this match, coach Xavi Hernandez decided to make some changes in the starting lineup, compared to the match against Royal Antwerp. Marcos Alonso will replace Alejandro Balde, Gavi will give his place to Oriol Romeu and Ferrán Torres will be one of the wingers, replacing Raphinha.
Barcelona's XI will be: Marc-André Ter Stegen; Joao Cancelo, Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso; Frenkie De Jong, Oriol Romeu, Ilkay Gundogan; Ferrán Torres, Robert Lewandowski, Joao Felix. Also on the bench will be Iñaki Peña, Ander Astralaga, Ronald Araújo, Alejandro Balde, Sergi Roberto, Iñigo Martinez, Gavi, Fermín Lopez, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
Celta have not started the 2023/24 season well. For this match against Barcelona in Montjuic, coach Rafa Benitez decided that the starting lineup will be: Ivan Villar; Oscar Mingueza, Unai Nunez, Carl Starfelt, Carlos Dominguez, Mihailo Ristic; Jorgen Strand Larsen, Fran Beltran, Luca De La Torre, Jonathan Bamba; Iago Aspas.
