The Spanish National Team has already landed in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, to play their third match in the qualifiers for the Euro 2024 to be played in Germany. The team from the Iberian Peninsula is part of Group A along with Scotland, Norway, Cyprus and Georgia, but they have not had a very promising start.
So far they have only 3 points from a 3-0 win against Norway and a 2-0 loss against Scotland. That is why the match they will play this Friday against Georgia at the Boris Paichadze stadium in Tbilisi is very important, as the hosts are currently above them in the standings with 4 points and if Spain lose they will be far away from the qualification zone.
The first hours of the Spanish national team in Tbilisi have not been positive, as they have had to face unexpected difficulties that have complicated the plans of coach Luis De La Fuente. In the team's first training session, the players had to perform physical exercises in an atypical way, almost as if they were playing amateur sportsmen: they had to wear sneakers instead of soccer boots and the goalkeepers did not have their gloves.
This was due to logistical problems. Most of the squad's training elements did not arrive in Georgia on time, forcing them to improvise. While the problem is now fixed, the sight of top stars like Rodri, Gavi and Dani Olmo training in those conditions was unexpected.
Although not yet publicly announced, Luis De La Fuente seems to have decided on the starting lineup for Friday's match: Unai Simon; Cesar Azpilicueta, Robin Le Normand, Aymeric Laporte, Alejandro Balde; Rodri, Mikel Merino; Marco Asensio, Gavi, Dani Olmo; Joselu. In Georgia, all eyes will be on the team's star player: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
